Chris Garcia

Chris Garcia is a comedian and writer based in San Francisco, California. He is an alumnus of the University of California, Berkeley where he studied creative writing, improvisational theater, and disappointing his extremely conservative Cuban immigrant parents. Chris is the recipient of the 2010 Dan Crawford Memorial Scholarship, an annual honor given to the San Francisco Punchline Comedy Club’s comedian of the year. He was recently named one of the Bay Area’s “Top 5 Comedians to Watch” by the San Jose Mercury News, and was awarded a 2010 Silver Nail by Rooftop Comedy, an award recognizing 8 of the top up and coming comedians in the country. In the Summer of 2011, Chris was named one of the “7 Funniest People in San Francisco” by 7×7 Magazine. He was named “The Funniest Man in Berkeley” in the fall of 2011. His festival appearances include SXSW, SF Sketchfest, the Bridgetown Comedy Festival, and the Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival. He has performed with such comics as Marc Maron, Bill Burr, The Kids in the Hall, Maria Bamford, and Robin Williams. Carlos Alazraqui of Reno 911 says, “Chris Garcia is the future of comedy. I say that because he’s really white and funny like me, but younger.”
